Congressman Denver Riggleman's bipartisan FinCEN Legislation passes by unanimous consent in the House

In his first hearing as Vice Ranking member of the National Security, International Development, and Monetary Policy Subcommittee Congressman Denver Riggleman questioned witness about potential reforms to the Bank Secrecy Act. The hearing entitled, "Promoting Corporate Transparency: Examining Legislative Proposals to Detect and Deter Financial Crime," featured testimony from experts in financial crime enforcement. The committee examined a wide range of issues including the U.S. anti-money laundering (AML) and countering the financing of terrorism (CFT) frameworks which are critical to safeguarding the financial system.

Riggleman questioned the experts on how they could improve these frameworks. "We should strive to equip regulators and financial institutions with clear directives and critical information, and create strong partnerships with law enforcement" said Congressman Riggleman.
